The Kapil Sharma Show has been on air for 11 years. However, I have never been here even once. I came this year. why
Because I was going through a very bad situation for the last two-and-a-half years. I was becoming emotionally weak. In those two-and-a-half years, I watched Comedy with Kapil. And, it gave me a lot of relief. Because when I was depressed, Kapil made me laugh.
So I thought, I should come to this show. Kapil is very happy, he makes people laugh all over the country, all over the world. You confuse people.
(Mostly Aamir Khan does not participate in award shows or some formal functions, TV shows, parties. Kapil Sharma Show, which is considered to be an influential platform for Bollywood film promotion and publicity, has not been there yet.)
Why was I called 'Mr Perfectionist'?
One person is responsible for the fact that I have been tagged as 'Mr Perfectionist'. Her name is Shawana Azmi.
At that time I was new to the film industry. The shooting of the movie 'Dil' was going on. Dilma Indra Kumar was the director and Baba Azmi ji was the cameraman. Baba Azmi was a famous cameraman, in whose house we often used to gather.
One day we were in a very deep discussion. I don't remember now, what was being discussed. However, serious discussions were going on.
At that time Shawana ji came with tea for us. She was saying, 'Aamir, how much sugar should you put in your tea?'
I was so engrossed in the discussion that I couldn't think about what she was asking. She was asking, 'How much sugar do you need, Aamir?'
I turned to him. It didn't take my mind five seconds to understand his question. I immediately asked, 'How big is the glass?'
She showed the cup and said, 'This is the cup.'
I was in the middle of that discussion. However, whatever I was thinking, give the right answer to whatever question she is asking. I asked, "Is the glass sharp?" Is the spoon sharp?'
She showed. Then I replied, 'One spoonful of sugar is enough.' And, immediately I moved into the discussion.
Shawana started narrating this story everywhere. Saying this, "If Aamir is asked how much sugar to eat, he first asks for the size of the cup, then asks for the size of the spoon and then tells the amount to eat."
I got the tag of Mr. Perfectionist with the initiative of listening to this story.
In. We were in the hospital. As a good husband, I was encouraging her, practicing taking deep breaths and letting them out. However, he was in unbearable pain. She gave me a slap when I started to 'puff'. Saying, 'Stop this nonsense.' She also bit my hand.
While my attention was focused on what is happening here. What I realized then is that when a person is in a lot of pain, the expression on his face should be full of pain. However, that is not the case. When there is a situation of unbearable pain, then the person's face becomes emotionless. Because he has not been able to feel the intensity of the pain. I saw this on Rina's face during the labor pains. This happens to every woman during childbirth.
This experience was completely new for me. How emotional the moment of extreme pain must have been was different in itself.
When we returned home, I said this to Rina, 'You were shocked and surprised during the labor pains.'
She was very angry after hearing my words. She said, 'I was in such pain, were you noticing my movements?'
What happens is, every time we meet some person or the other and we are taking notes of some behavior or character from them.
My children do not take advice from me
My children don't want to listen to me. Sometimes I think, our generation got stuck in between. We used to listen to our parents. We listened to them. We thought that they would listen to us. Our time will come.
However, when we became parents, the current children changed. They don't listen to us. Earlier our parents scolded us, now our children scold us.
Jaggu (Jackie Shroff) is my benefactor in this film industry. At that time, his son Tiger was just entering the film industry. Jaggu said to me, 'Tiger is my son. Meet him once, talk to him. how is he Look.'
Some other people from the film industry also call me. And they say, 'Meet my child. Give him the right advice. Make them company with you, teach them how to work.' But my own child is not interested in me at all.
They don't take my advice. When I give advice, they ignore it.
My sister is a better artist than me
My sister Farhat can act better than me. I have been acting for the past 30-35 years. But she is better than me.
I was 18 when I was working as an assistant director. I had already made a film before that. Its name was Open Window. That film was not released but I made it for learning. My sister Farhat has played the lead role in it. She works so well. I'm tired of it, act. However, she does not listen to me.
Why don't I know to get the award?
One thing in life is very valuable, time. Time is valuable, it should be used properly.
(Usually Aamir does not go to award ceremonies. He is asked many questions about this. This time he gave a diplomatic answer, saying that it is a waste of time.)
How did you make me naked in PK?
Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat while narrating the script of Pike told me, 'An alien comes to earth, who is naked. He sees a man there and curiously runs closer. The man sees a glowing garland around the alien's neck. They drag garlands. Aliens take radios from humans.
I asked, 'What are you going to do to me? make you naked? How is this filmed practically?'
Raju said, 'No, I will make something like a shirt for you. But, it happens in the front, not the back. For that, the shooting was going to take place in a place like a desert in Rajasthan, where there will not be many people. Only very few people from the shooting unit will be there.
The day of shooting came. The costume designer made me wear that dress. I went out with the radio on. Raju said that the phone cannot be used. Everyone's phone was hidden.
There I see a train coming and a man walking there. And I run in that direction. My view was like this. But when I run, the clothes are about to burst. It was so hard for me in that scene that I had to run fast but I was not in a position to do so.
After practicing a couple of times, I said to Raju, 'Let's take it off, man.' I told everyone in the shooting unit to stay away. And I took off my clothes and ran.
PK had to look naked in the film and I was very relieved. I was ashamed to think about it. However, the work was done well. That's why I said to Raju, 'What a big deal it is that I am naked in front of you! Let's remove this cloth.' Then I did not feel any shame. I did my job correctly.
Maharashtra was closed, so I became an artist
This episode is from when I was studying in college. Although my parents were in the film industry, they did not want to bring us into this field as much as possible. Because it was their understanding that this is a very unstable area.
I used to go to college. There was a theater group. I was very interested in that group. There was a director named Mahendra Joshi, with whom I wanted to work. However, I did not get a chance to play in college. Because I failed the audition.
However, I did not back down. Because even if we don't get a chance in one play, we will try in another. I saw on the notice board that a Gujarati play was being rehearsed. Gujarati does not come to me, Marathi does not come to me. However, there was a chorus in Gujarati plays. That is, they needed a crowd. I thought, I will get a chance there.
Then I applied. I was chosen to stand out in the crowd. I had a dialogue there, for which I had practiced for three months. However, when the play was staged, Maharashtra was closed. Due to the same strike, I was fired from the play after not being able to attend the rehearsal one day.
My tears came out. There was a square near the theater. I went there. cried It was very rude. In this way, two friends came. One of them said, “Listen, he is making a diploma film, at the Pune Institute. He needs an artist.' I immediately agreed. The next day I went to Pune and started playing the film.
That film was watched by another student, whose name is Rajeev Singh. He also offered me in his film. After watching those two films, Ketan Meheta signed a Holi film contract. After watching the film Holi, Mansoor and Nasir Saheb took me to their film. That movie was Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.
Now the matter has come, of the Maharashtra shutdown. If Maharashtra had not closed that day, would I have become a star or not? don't know
How was my character created in Three Idiots?
In particular, I was not going to play Three Idiots. I thought people would laugh. Because I am 44 years old, I am playing the role of an 18-year-old boy.
I said to Raju, 'For this you should play three young men of the same age, why should we take me!' But he continued to insist.
I had not worked with Raju before that. Munna Bhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munna Bhai He had already made it. I really wanted to work with him. However, when I heard the story of three idiots, I thought it was not for me. I didn't think I would succeed in this. There is a dialogue in the film, 'Don't run after success, be competent.'
Raju said, 'You have done the work, you have put the star on the ground. He did it for success. There was an attachment to it. It was successful because of attachment.
He added, 'Your career was like this. When you speak this dialogue, the audience will believe it.' Finally I decided to do Raju's film.
So I don't blindly decide to play any film. But, when Raju said, I closed my eyes and left.
Now my challenge was character building. How to transform ourselves into that character? Because the cover was not just for an 18-year-old boy. His emotions and demeanor should have been 18 years old.
This character was a fusion of two people. One was AR Murugadoss. He is the director of Ghajini film.
Murugadoss is such a separate person, whose stature is small. He looks like a child. When he came to see me for the first time, I thought he was 6 feet tall. But he was like a little child. The living style was also the same. He had a great quality, he had no filter. If you think good, say good, if you think bad, say bad. The kind that doesn't give a roundabout answer.
He doesn't think that what I say is bad for others. I took this quality into myself.
Second, relatives. He could not stand still. He always seems to be active. I also adopted this style of his. Thus, I created the character for Three Idiots from the qualities and style of two different people.
